PIT, LAGOON & DUGOUT LINERS

What are you leaving behind?
Runoff and transport of nitrates, ammonia, phosphorous, and fecal bacteria from CAFOs can impact water resources with excessive biological oxygen demand (BOD).
In addition, insufficient absorbtion of land-applied animal waste and wastewater creates a potential for ground water contamination. Well water in rural areas frequently contain excessive nitrates due to this type of contamination.
Fertilizer loading and transfer areas, hog farms, poultry farms, and cattle feedlots all must exercise environmental responsibility according to the different provincial environmental interests. Controlling wastes with properly lined waste storage basins, runoff basins, and with covers over sludge and manure pits is increasingly considered the best and most practical solution, and a natural part of any significant agricultural operation.
